Pre-Inspection
Your rugs are inspected before washing for certain pre-existing conditions that may cause concern. Pet urine damage, dye stability, structural integrity, stains, impacted soil, and overall wear and tear are just some of the issues we may discuss with you. Pre-inspection is when we decide on a best-method approach to clean each of your rugs.
Once your rugs have been pre-inspected, special attention is given to removing the embedded soil and grit that weekly vacuuming may miss. The process we use from rug to rug will change based on what we discover during pre-inspection.Dry Soil Removal
Spot/Stain Pre-Treatment
Stubborn spots and stains are treated with spotting solutions specifically made to be safe for use on the delicate fibers and dyes found in Oriental rugs and other designer area rugs.
Each individual rug receives our hands-on attention and care. A best-method cleaning approach is determined during pre-inspection, and we remain flexible in our approach if it is determined that a better method exists as we start working.
Rugs are washed one at a time, reducing any chance of cross contamination from pet waste or dirty wash water from another rug coming into contact with yours. All of the products used in our process are harm-free for the fibers and dyes found in heirloom and designer quality area rugs.
Pet Urine Decontamination
When area rugs come in with pet urine damage, we take the extra steps necessary, outside the scope of what regular washing can touch, and treat with specially formulated urine decontamination solutions that are safe to use on even the finest rug fibers.
Centrifugal Rinsing
Harnessing the power of centripetal force, our centrifuge allows us to effectively rinse away and remove sudsy water more thoroughly than ever before! For more delicate or fragile rugs, we will custom tailor a rinse method that is safe and appropriate.
Humidity Controlled Drying
Rugs are held in our humidity-controlled drying space until completely dry before receiving a final grooming and post-washing inspection. Even thick-piled rugs dry quickly at Mann’s!
Deodorization
Every reasonable effort is made to remove even the most offensive pet urine odors. Our odor control process also works well on cooking odors, nicotine odors, and musty odors. In some cases where the construction of a rug does not allow for thorough treatment (i.e. tufted), we may suggest replacement over treatment.

If your rugs are rolled up and ready for us to take away and you are within our service area, FREE pick-up and delivery of your area rugs can be arranged in advance with our front office.
